Cinder, As in Ella!

Check out this beauty NoFace brought home!!!! Look at those legs with all those curves and the metal detailing too! It was love at first sight. She even has a price tag on the inside from her original store, I believe. I'm leaving that intact.

I contemplated leaving her as is and just freshening her up a bit, but her top was pretty scratched and she looked a bit dated, so my wheels began turning. I wanted soft ocean colors for a coastal cottage look. I originally pictured her with a checker board top and a happy couple/kids playing games on her, but since she is rectangle instead of square the spaces didn't quite work out right. I went ahead and painted her in Fusion Mineral Paint Raw Silk and Little Whale.

Little Whale is actually from Fusion's Tones for Tots line and is Zero VOC as is the rest of their paint line. I'm really loving all the soft tones in this collection. I think they are sweet for a nursery but really complement most decor as they are so soft and subtle.

I wiped Ella Down with Simple Green and gave her a light sanding. Then I painted away. Fusion covers really well, but I did use two coats for even coverage.

Her pretty warm white and soft blue along with those curvy legs, instantly brought to mind Cinderella. I see her blue ball gown, black choker, and of course that carriage! Cinderella was always my favorite fairy tale.

Since I couldn't paint a checker board on the top, I needed a new idea. NoFace actually came up with the compass stencil! I know it isn't a clock, but that compass channels the chiming of the clock at midnight when Cinderella must rush away from her prince. Am I the only one that sees that??

The compass is subtle but gives it just the right touch or pizzazz. Side note...those are real peacock feathers Dragon and I found on a walk. Who knew there are peacocks in Southern California?

Check out the patina on these curls!! I almost painted them, but I just couldn't bring myself to cover them up. I think they tie in nicely with her handle.

Want to see my favorite part? I wanted to add a little spunk to this sweet little lady. This blue and green palm paper does just the trick!! It even has the tiniest bit of gold running through it. If I could find this in wallpaper, I might just go paper crazy in my living room. Okay, not really, but I would use it somewhere. It is just so pretty. Did I mention I found it at Marshall's?!? Marshall's is my favorite place to find pretty wrapping paper.

I know I said Ella's drawer was my favorite, but have you seen her handle? I mean it looks like lace with a little patina. She is just smiling at you.

Ella, turned out even better than I imagined her. I see her next to a sofa or nestled between two chairs ready to hold a stunning lamp, a good book, and a glass of Presecco. I so wish I could keep this pretty, little lady, but my house is maxed out at the moment. Perhaps she can bring a bit of the sea to your neck of the woods. She is up for sale! Check out my Available For Local Sale page for details.
