Trixie, A Coral Bench Makeover

I have a love/hate relationship with coral. Well, more like a love it, paint it, get freaked out by the intensity of the color, re-paint it relationship. NOT THIS TIME!! NoFace brought this rusty, old bench and a pair of chairs home last summer and I am just now getting around to painting the bench. Side note. I recently had a friend emphatically tell me that I should never ever complain about NoFace because he is the best guy ever and they just don't make 'em like him. Whoa, calm down! I wasn't even complaining. NoFace is pretty great though.

My phone some how got broken (I'm pretty sure it was Monkey!) and all the before pictures were on it. However, I found this one of the matching chair. The bench basically looked like this chair.

I initially just thought black, but my yard is so blah that I wanted something more cheery. I also really wanted to paint it gold. I thought those thin railings would look so elegant gold with navy and white accents. That color scheme is a little too chic for my yard right now. I decided on coral. I wiped the bench down with simple green and grabbed to cans of Rust-oleum spray paint in coral and sprayed away.

And then it happened....I panicked.

She is so bright and a little overwhelming and and and....do I repaint?? NO! NOT THIS TIME! I knew cushions would help so off to Target I went.

Better, but Trixie still needed a few more accessories. So I went to my favorite store, Ross and also a quick stop at JoAnn's to get this perfect Flamingo pillow that finally went on sale!

And I love her!! Sometimes coral can be a bit much on it's own, but properly accessorized it is the perfect pop of cheery! I now have a love/ love relationship with coral.

I didn't use a top coat on this bench and I have already scratched a bit of the paint. I am going to touch up and add that top coat. You might want to also if you are spray painting!

What do you think of my flamingo banner?? I am in love. You don't think Monkey will mind if I decorate his room in Flamingos, do you? Snatch one up at my Etsy shop!!

Oh and this picturesque backyard is not my own. Mine is full of kids toys, dog toys, chalk, and the occasional plastic pool. Hopefully my neighbors won't mind that I hopped the fence and borrowed their's while they were in Hawaii. =)

So, what is your favorite color pop of cheery?
