I'm a dreamer with a paintbrush in hand and three little ones in tow. I love hunting for lost treasures. Others may just see an old bag of bones but I see something beautiful. I love the story of an old piece. I love imagining who used it or what its' purpose was. I love the chase of reading about a free item on craigslist, calling out to the kids that we are going on a treasure hunt and racing (driving within the speed limit) to see if we can uncover this gem. The pieces speak to me. Okay not literally, I'm not that wild, yet.
However, I do get visions of what a piece should look
Hi! I'm Alaina!

like or what feelings it should evoke. I often name my pieces because after so much time with them, they just deserve one. It helps me further realize their stories.
I'm so glad you are here to join my treasure hunt, where I discover old bones and use my bristles to bring them back to life! Who am I? What a question. Do any of us really know? I know people claim that they have found themselves but I think they just had a moment of clarity and then they change again. I know I am still learning who I am, but this is what I have learned so far. I am a dreamer, a lover, an adventurer. I am a mother of three beautiful boys and a wife. I was blessed to meet my prince charming at 18 and have been madly in love ever since. I love the beach and my 110lb dog, Moses. At times I am insecure and uncertain, but I am learning to trust and believe in myself more.
Once upon a time I was a Creative Arts Therapist with a degree in Drama Therapy from NYU. You may see that slip out from time to time. It colors the way I see the world. I see things in stories and color and characters. I used to work with abused children and people with dementia, but now I get to spend the day with my kiddos!I thought this blog would be a fun place to share my makeovers and musings. I would love to re-story your treasures too! I also love party styling so I opened an Etsy shop for all those goodies!
